Mass Spectrometry Position

A Mass Spectrometry Postdoctoral position is available immediately within
the Proteomics group at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer. Primary duties will include
the 1) operation of Electrospray tandem MS (Micromass QTOF II) and MALDI-TOF
(PE Biosystems Voyager-STR) mass spectrometers for the identification and
characterization of proteins separated by 2D-gel electrophoresis, 2) protein
identification using peptide mass fingerprinting and MS/MS generated
sequence tags, 3) identification of post-translational modifications and
de-novo sequencing of unknown proteins / peptides by nanospray and
nanoLC/MS/MS, and 4) participation in Mass Spectrometry/Chromatography
technology developments for Proteomic studies.
Requirements include 1) a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry, 2) experience
in utilizing mass spectrometry for the analysis of peptides/proteins in
complex biological mixtures, 3) excellent communication, organization, and
