DTT on IEF strip

A while ago, someone mentioned putting a filter paper strip with 20 mM DTT
on IEF cathodes to minimize streaking, but I have lost that e-mail. So I
am resorting to sending this question to everyone, and apologize in
advance.

Do you mean putting an extra piece of filter paper above the electrode, on
the gel portion of the strip, or underneath the electrode, so that they are
on the plastic portion of the strip? Or do you just add the 20 mM DTT to
the electrode contact pad itself?
