We run a Hitachi L-8500 amino acid analyzer. It came with both
visible and fluorescent detectors. The amino acid separation is by means
of an ion-exchange column. It is a robust and reliable equipment. I
don't know how great the current models from Hitachi are, but it would
be worthwhile to check.
