Today, I found the following post script on Bob Lyons response to a posting:

BTW, the 'abrf-request' address is not for posts. It's only for subscribe
and unsubscribe requests.

Now this is interesting as a couple of weeks ago I replied to a posting
by hitting the "Reply with history"
button on Lotus notes. I was surprised when my "witty and intelligent" reply
was never posted (in hind site it wasn't all
that witty and intelligent) . So, looking back at the address of the reply I
found that it was the 'abrf-request' address.
Today when I look at the seventeen odd postings I see that they all have the
'abrf-request' return address. Is this a quirk of my
email system or is this happening to everyone and a lot of "witty and
intelligent" replies are getting lost at the request address?

Weather inconsequential: speaking of witty...Mark Twain supposedly said that
the coldest winter he ever spent was in San
Francisco in the summer. In the summer, the native's in "the City" enjoy
laughing at the tourists who are freezing
in shorts and tank tops!
