Another reason for differences in sensitivity has to do with ability of the
analyte to carry a negative charge. Unless I'm mistaken, a negatively
charged species is less stable with respect to temperature and pressure.
this would reduce the signal unless conditions were optimized. Just
switching polarities doesn't address the fact that your MS is either
optimized for positive or negative ions ( not both!)
