Lisa:

Do not throw away your urea (yet). We buy urea from ICN and the gels
are always *%#@! unless we use Whatman 3MM filter paper to filter the
gel before adding the APS and TEMED. Others prefer deionizing their
urea, but in our hands Whatman 3MM solved all the problems without
deionizing (the biggest problem was enormous fuzziness in the upper half
of the sequencing gel).

My urea source has changed everything and now my gels are, well lets
just
say disappointing instead of *%#@!. Could someone direct me to a new
source? I have a new bucket from my old source to test but I am so
swamped with samples, I don't have time.

Lisa
