PE Biosytems Technical Support is looking for a few good . . . specialists! The
qualified individuals will be based in Foster City, California (about 20 miles
south of San Francisco, on beautiful San Francisco Bay) and will provide a
readily accessible source of technical support for North American customers of
PE Biosystems DNA synthesizers (primarily 392, 394, 3948 and Expedite models).
They will also act as technical liaisons for providing feedback from customers
to maintain and improve product quality.
These positions require the knowledge and skills normally acquired through
completion of a BS or BA degree in the life sciences, chemistry, engineering, or
related fields, or equivalent experience gained by servicing or providing
technical support for related high technology instrumentation. Requires
knowledge of the principles of biology and chemistry, computer literacy (PC and
Macintosh), and the ability to contribute excellent oral and written
communication skills in a team environment. Experience with Applied Biosystems
DNA synthesizers is required. Corelab and/or technical support experience with
PE Biosystems instrumentation is especially helpful. Must be able to speak via
telephone with customers who possess a wide range of technical and communication
skills.
