We have used the sypro stains for in-gel peptide mapping with good recovery
of peptides and no difference in the LC/MS or maldi spectrum that was
significant, comparing with coomassie or the zn positive stain--we washed
with acetonitrile to decolorize in the same manner as suggested for
coomassie. When used for antibodies, you might get a reaction with the
dye, as well as the protein.
