DNASeq: Sequence analysis programs for Mac?

Dear colleagues,

today, one of our customers asked me for a Mac-based program for editing
her DNA sequence data. We are currently using for ourself the Editview Ver.
1.0.1 from PE on our Macs. Two features I miss in Editview are a freely
scalable Y axis like in the PC program Chromas as well as an option for
searching a distinct sequence motif or even the next N in the sequence.
For this reasons, I should like to know: Are there any free- or shareware
alternatives for Editview on the Mac? What's your impression about them?
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Yours sincerely,
Marcus Macht
