We've purchased 96-well plates from a couple of sources. Molecular Devices sells
quartz plates for around $900-1000. You can contact David Freeman at
800-635-5577 ext 3692 for more information. I haven't seen any signs of
contamination from assay to assay, but they are difficult to clean if I get lazy
and leave samples in too long.

We've also gotten plates for UV and fluorescent plate readers from Fisher. I
think they are both manufactured by Corning. They're somewhat expensive, but I
use them when I'm running lots of assays. The catalog numbers are as follows: UV
plates, 50/cs, 07-200-623, $245.63 and fluorescent plates, 100/cs, 07-200-568,
$230.83. I would suggest looking at Corning or Fisher's website, though. They
have many types of plate available for a variety of uses. I picked the ones that
worked best for our uses.

Good luck.

Weather: The heat and humidity of summer haven't left us and hurricane notices
are swirling around campus. I think I prefer fall colors and swirling leaves.
