<bold>SPECIALIST/PROGRAM ANALYST IN BIOINFORMATICS

W. M. Keck Center for Comparative & Functional Genomics

Starting Date </bold>November 1, 1999

<bold>Responsibilities </bold>The successful applicant will be
responsible for data analysis of DNA sequencing projects. Relevant
software includes data collection software, DNA sequence analysis,
Factura, Autoassembler, Genotyper, Genescan and others. Must be able
to use relational database programs. Duties include record keeping.

<bold>Qualifications </bold>M.S. in Biology, Biochemistry or related
natural sciences or the equivalent combination of education and
laboratory experience with a B.S. required. Preference will be given
to candidates who combine a good background in genomics with excellent
computer skills. Some knowledge of UNIX, SQL (Structured Query
Language) PERL, Java and HTML is required. Good organizational skills
and the ability to work independently. Willingness to work with
faculty, graduate and undergraduate students and to explore new
techniques and methods.

<bold>Type of Position

and Salary </bold>Full-time, regular academic professional position
with full University benefits. Salary is commensurate with
experience.
