I have recently received the following query from an investigator:

"I am interested in sequencing proteins that have been
nitrated at tyrosine moieties. Can your detection process
differentiate between tyrosine and nitrotyrosine?"

I do not find a retention time for nitrotyrosine in the "Identification
of Modified PTH-Amino Acids in Protein Sequence Analysis" that all of us
rely on. Before I tell the PI "NO", I thought I'd send the query to
you-all and see if anyone knows of a way to do it, or alternately the
reason that it is not feasible.

Thank you in advance for your help!
