Research Assoc I-III
Amgen Peptide Technology Group is seeking to fill an open position within
its Peptide Production Team. This is an integral position to Amgen's core
peptide synthesis operations and peptide-related project efforts. Duties
include solid phase synthesis and characterization of project peptides using
established experimental protocols. Minimum requirements include: i)
Bachelor's degree in life science, ii) knowledge of solid phase chemistry,
iii) ability to adhere to SOPs, iv) aptitude toward laboratory automation,
v) the ability to work in a team environment, vi) strong written and verbal
communication and computer skills. The preferred requirements include: i) a
Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Chemistry or related sciences and relevant
experience in a peptide chemistry laboratory, ii) technical experience with
both manual and automated solid-phase peptide synthesis including either
tBoc or Fmoc chemistry, iii) experience with one or more of the following;
HPLC purification methods, mass spectrometry, protein sequencing, and amino
acid analysis.

Amgen Peptide Technology Group is seeking to fill a position that is
responsible for i) synthetic methods development in peptide and
peptidomimetic related chemistry and ii) the support of Amgen's core peptide
synthesis operations and peptide-related project efforts. Duties include
multi-step syntheses, and establishing experimental protocols for transfer
to the Core Production Team. The essential requirements include: i) a
Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Chemistry and 3-plus years industrial
experience in organic synthesis; ii) an extensive knowledge of synthetic
organic chemistry, modern spectroscopic and analytical techniques including
NMR, IR, and HPLC, iii) practical experience in synthesis, and scaling up to
multi-gram quantities, iv) strong written and verbal communication and
computer skills. Experience with solution and solid phase peptide chemistry
techniques is preferred.
