The best alternative I found was Sigma, but they have
discontinued it.
I haven't used it, but I understand the ABI ethyl acetate works
well.
I have been using the Fluka (pn 45758). It worked. The only
problem with the Fluka is that it comes in a 1l bottle, and I
think, even flushing with nitogen, it is going bad before the
liter is used up.
Don't use:
EM Science EX-0242 for biotechnology. It was about the same for K
recovery as the HP bad lots.
I've got Pierce's sequanal grade on order. If it is wonderful I
will let you know.
Good luck.

We have just been told that ethyl acetate reagent from Hewlett Packard will
remain on back order for up to 8 more weeks. We have already been waiting 4
weeks for a backordered shipment.
Does anyone know if another brand of ethyl acetate (ie ABI) could be used
for protein sequencing? Or does anyone know of a source of ethyl acetate
that would be suitable for an HP G1005A protein sequencer? Help!
Thanks
