reagent/solvent quality

The recent discussions about sequencing reagents got me thinking. Have any of
the various ABRF committees ever compiled a list of acceptable quality reagents
and solvents for common procedures? I know you've studied specific methods for
many processes and published the results, but has this ever been done with
something as simple as quality of reagents?

If such studies have been done, could someone point me to the results? If they
haven't, is there enough interest to start such an undertaking?
