peptide oligo link

Hi,

I have to synthesize a peptide and an oligonucleotide that
would be linked together.
The investigator would prefer a N-terminal fluorescein-blocked
peptide with a CH2Br (instead of a COOH) that would be linked
to a 5'thiophosphated oligo.
I have some mental difficulties with the CH2Br even though
I gathered some protocols (that seem quite complicated
and might possibly harm the peptide, and I do not have any significant
chemistry equipment).
An other alternative could be adding a Cystein to the acid side
of the peptide (although I have not gotten the OK from the PI for
that yet) and put a 5'amino linker on the Oligo and may be link
them with a succinimide. Which the NH-succinimides would be
the right one to use?
Or would there be a better way to achieve that linkage?
Anne
