answers that I received concerning my question from
last week were only forwarded to my personal account.
Here is the information in my own words (since I do
not have the original messages any more):
Literature:
SIGMA catalog + references cited therein
"Advances in lectin research", Vol 1+2, VEB Verlag
Volk und Gesundheit, Berlin 1988
"Carbohydrate Analysis: A Practical Approach", M. F.
Chaplin, J. F. Kennedy ed.
In general, the most common procedure is to elute
carbohydrates from lectins by means of a competitive
ligand such as mono- or disaccharides at high
concentration. Different lectins require differnt
haptens. ConA e.g. requires 0.3M
methyl-alpha-D-glucoside whereas WGA requires 0.1-1.0M
N-acetyl-glucosamine.
Hope this helps.
Thanks again
Regards
Andreas Franz
