Deb,
Being at a public university, check with your university's surplus
(a.k.a. property redistribution). The Power PC/Mac about that vintage
should be being replaced with newer models. Used computers run about $45 at
MU's surplus before the auction and about $50 for 10 at auction.
My 492 (Procise 2.1) is hooked up to a 4400/200 Power PC/Mac. I
was told long time ago not to upgrade, so it the same as when it was
installed.

Our New "used" 492 has blown its computer (a Power PC 6100--well,
actually, the 6100 toasted the video monitor--and then it toasted our
second "tester" video monitor).
What computer systems do you use on your 492/494's? We need to go to our
friendly rebuilt Mac store (thank goodness there is one in town) and get
back up and running!
