MS - Which MS?

Dear mass specers!
Two and a half years ago I asked you all for advice on which MALDI
instrument to go for. It was very useful in our process of selection (we
eventually got the Bruker Biflex III, which, looking back, has been and
still is very very useful, although I am still not a Unix fan!!)
Now we have a second similar question.
To complement the MALDI-TOF, we would like a good instrument for
fragmentation and other analyses that are not easily done on the MALDI.
These are the names of instruments we are interested in:

QTOF - QSTAR - LCQdeca - Esquire

How can we justify a pricetag of the two first ones that is more or less
double the tag of the two others? We know that resolution and accuracy is
fantastic in the Q-machines, but is it worth a fortune? Is there anything
that ion trap instruments do better than the Q's?
We would be most thankful for any input of experienced users.
Please comment on optimal applications, user friendliness, software,
support and whatever more you find relevant.
Thank you very much, and enjoy the weekend!
/Ulf
