Millie,
If you're looking for a way to integrate a new NT machine on a mac
network, there are a bunch of possible solutions depending on your
exact needs. http://www.macwindows.com/ is a good place to start
(see the "solutions" and "tutorial" sections. peer to peer options
range from FTP, DAVE or (http://www.thursby.com), PCMacLan, TSSTalk
and server oriented solutions, AplleshareIP, linux/unix server
running Netatalk and Samba (supporting both network protocols) and
even an NT server. I do not want to imply that I use or recommend
all of these systems or that the list is exhaustive, they're just
ideas. I've used linux servers, DAVE, COPSTalk (which grew into
TSSTalk) and FTP is great for simple file transfer solutions. There
are free ftp servers for both Macs and PCs.
Your choices depend on what capabilities you need and your future
plans for your network.
hope this helps.
