Dear Chris:

Other than by pH <3, the only way I know of disrupting this interaction is
said to be by sulfhydryl reduction with MSH. This was reported in
Biotechniques, about 10 issues back. It may matter whether your
avidin/strepavidin has been cross-linked. I have no experience with these
procedures. Your bait may not survive these procedures either. There is a
monomeric strepavidin of lower affinity. I hope someone else can share
his/her experience with that reagent.
