I think 8-channel pipette has troubles 8 times as frequent as single
channel pipette, and 12-channel one does 12 times...
Troubles I have frequently encountered are:
uneven setting of chips
difficulty of chip ejection.
I gave up from the beginning about such troubles.
If you have similar troubles, I recommend to buy a 4-channel pipette.
Four-channel pipette has only 4 times as many troubles as single

I bought a 4-channel pipette from BM-Kiki (Japan), but it may be
imported to Japan and sold as an OEM brand. I do not know its original
supplier.
It may be a trade-off between how fast you do and how well you do.
