Metabolite Profiling Core Facility Manager/Director - Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research
SRA 3 (Microinjectionist CRISPR) - UC Davis
Perform pronuclear, CRISPR, 8-cell and blastocyst microinjections or electroporation, harvest/prepare embryos for microinjection and/or electroporation, inject embryos and surgically transfer injected embryos into recipient mice and rats. Includes preparation of microinjection and transfer needles. Communicate and coordinate with investigators and their staff, and other members of the Mouse Biology Program, schedule microinjections, purify DNA and RNA construct for pronuclear injection, collect embryos and tissue, order mice and supplies. Perform surgical transplantation of embryos for rederivation and resuscitation. Perform record keeping and data entry. Training and instruction of all aforementioned tasks. Prepare documents to track costs and rate information for the financial performance of the MTGL laboratory. In addition, this position will attend meetings, provide reports both written and verbal, and is expected to participate in developing new methodology.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is recruiting a senior scientist in the Research Technologies Branch (RTB) for the Division of Intramural Research (DIR).
We are seeking an outstanding individual with exceptional managerial skills and a forward-thinking mindset to serve as DIR Associate Director for Research Technologies and Chief of the RTB. The selected candidate will oversee a staff of over 60 scientists—most with advanced degrees—and several large, complex programs located on NIAID’s campuses in Bethesda and Rockville (Maryland) and in Hamilton (Montana). These research groups are focused on developing project-specific applications using state-of-the-art technologies, providing technology consultation, evaluating new technology and applications, and supporting DIR investigators’ bioinformatics needs. The incumbent will benefit from unique opportunities to collaborate with other members of DIR who perform research on immunology, allergy, and infectious diseases. University of Illinois at Chicago - Director of Research Service Facility, Genome Research Core - RRC
This position provides scientific leadership, management and day-to-day operations oversight of the Genome Research Core (GRC) in the Research Resource Center (RRC), which provides a centralized resource for high throughput technologies including instrumentation and expertise for gene targeting and editing approaches to cell lines and animal models, and for DNA, RNA and chromatin analyses including from bulk samples or single cells. Approaches include using sequencing, genotyping, real-time PCR, next-generation sequencing library generation, next-generation sequencing, nucleic acid extraction and QC for RNA/DNA/proteins, and miRNA/hnRNA gene expression analyses. The position advises the VCR and RRC Operations Director for the GRC, and provides technical expertise to facility users in research consultation, service and training.

This position oversees and manages magnetic resonance instrumentation in the Chemical and Biophysical Instrumentation Center (CBIC), under the supervision of the CBIC director.
Responsibilities include 12 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometers with operating frequencies ranging from 400 MHz to 800 MHz, include Varian/Agilent and Bruker models, and are used for small-molecule, macromolecular and solid-state sample analysis. Activities include training instrument users, creating documentation, performing calibrations, diagnosing and solving instrument problems, as well as scheduling and assisting CBIC staff with instrument maintenance tasks including cryogen fills.

Yale University - Cryo EM Facility Manager
Yale has an immediate opening for a Cryo-EM Facility Manager/Director at either the Associate Research Scientist or Research Scientist level. The successful candidate will provide scientific leadership, management, and day-to-day operation of Yale University’s new Yale Science Building (YSB) Cryo-EM Facility. The incumbent will collaborate with and support researchers from across the campus by providing support and guidance in experimental design, sample preparation, data collection, and computational image analysis.
The YSB facility houses a newly installed Glacios microscope equipped with a Gatan K2 camera and a Talos L120C microscope. Additional space in the facility is ready for the addition of two Krios microscopes and another support instrument, such as cryo-FIB. The YSB facility joins other resources at the university housing Titan Krios, Glacios, Tecnai and Aquilos instruments.
